Dad’s Trek to End T1D
1 man…1 hundred miles…to end T1D
Like most dads, there is nothing I wouldn’t do for one of my girls. Lilly, my oldest daughter, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) on April 9, 2015. She has been an inspiration by facing the highs and lows of the disease with strength, courage, perseverance, and maturity beyond her years. In honor of Lilly’s determination, this summer I have committed to walking 100 miles on the Cape from the Sagamore Bridge to Provincetown to raise funds for JDRF, the organization that has served as our family’s source of connection, education, and hope since her diagnosis. JDRF works every day to change the reality of T1D for Lilly and millions of others by funding research to cure, prevent and treat the disease and its complications. Through TEAM LILLYLULU, we have focused our efforts by supporting JDRF in as many ways as possible and this trek is a unique opportunity for me to channel my energy toward making a difference. I will stop at nothing short of leaving a meaningful mark for JDRF in honor of Lilly—thank you for joining me in this endeavor.
